Hello. My name is Hugh. I make stuff. Sometimes I write about the stuff that I make. Yeah I know – I’m so unique. That’s a drawing of me on the right, but I’ve lost a bit of weight since then – maybe I’ll update it soon

Technically speaking I build web applications with robust, user-friendly back-end systems and smooth, friendly front-ends. I work in PHP using MySQL databases and employ advanced CSS, HTML and Javascript for the front-end side of things.

The people I make stuff for also make sweet stuff of their own. Take some time to check out their work – you won’t be disappointed. I count myself lucky to be involved with the people I have had the pleasure of working with.

On top of the custom applications that I build I also do smaller enhancements for existing systems. I can’t showcase these here unfortunately, but please browse round the work that is on display and enjoy.

The more observant of you would notice that I also blog about techie stuff – these blogs will mostly be focussed around web development, but could also branch out into other areas I find interesting. They also only happen when I get round to actually writing them.

In my professional capacity I currently work as a web developer at Quickonline – a great little web development agency based in Cape Town. From time to time I do freelance work, but my job tends to keep me busy enough so as to make it rather tough to keep up that side of things.
